YOU deserve to be treasured

I've realized lately that I can count my true friends on one hand.  I've realized that I'm not the kind of girl who needs to be surrounded by lots of friends, I'm the kind of girl who needs a few people (even if that's just 3 or 4) who "get me" and genuinely care.  And I've realized that that's ok.

I've also realized that I shouldn't allow people who don't value or respect me to waste my time (or my tears, or my text messages, or my friendship). That may sound harsh, but it's true.  Certain people have shown me that I don't mean enough to them to be treasured…and I accepted it.  Simply because I didn't want to lose their friendship.  It seemed like the right thing to do for a long time, but trust me, it ISN'T.  You deserve friends who show how much they care about you.  Who laugh with you, but also trust you with the not so great parts of life. Who treasure and value you.  THOSE are the kind of people you should surround yourself with, even if you can only find a handful of them in your lifetime.  And if that's the one lesson I've learned from 2015, I'm content with that.

It's really interesting for me to compare the people I started the year with, to the people I've finished the year with.  And looking around at the people I'm surrounding myself with now makes me very hopeful that I've got an amazing year ahead of me.  And I'm so excited to see what 2016 will bring.

xoxo

Hand in Hand //

Hello :)

I just wanted to let you guys know about a group blog that I recently joined!  It's called Hand in Hand and it is where myself and 6 of my lovely blogger friends share our Christian faith and our other passions.  It just launched a few days ago so we don't have many posts up yet, but there are many more to come!  Stop by if you'd like (click here), and maybe spread the word by grabbing our button as well ~ That would be great!
